Featured Dog
Do you have a place in your heart for a dear old girl who demands little except to curl up nearby on the soft carpet and take a nap? This grand old lady is an 8 year old husky that is calm, quiet and demands very little except a good rub and occasional scratch. She gets along well with other dogs but is looking for an older couple who appreciate the special gifts that a relationship with a seasoned pet brings. Sienna was found as a stray in Santa Fe where we rescued her out the SF shelter. She needed surgery for a leg tumor, which has now been removed and she has recovered very well. She has passed her health tests with flying colors! However, she is an older dog with typical geriatric needs including glucosamine/condroitin to keep her mobile. Buddy is one of the nicest Siberian Husky/Malamute fellows you will ever meet! Buddy, like Sienna above, is about 8 years old, gets along very well with other dogs and loves to hang out with humans. He is great with kids and other dogs but despite his size, needs a good fenced-in back yard. He is current on shot, neutered, and microchipped. Anook is a male husky that is probably about 3-4 years old. He is a sweet fellow that has manners! He is obedient and know some basic commands, does not seem to be escape-prone, and gets along well with other dogs. Juneau is a very nice all white female about 2 years old and is fond of people. She loves to talk to you and would love to accompany you on walks and runs. Ricky
- Valencia County Animal Control asked for our help with this sweet
1 year old male who was owner surrendered because he had porcupine quills
in his face and paw. The quills are now gone and Ricky is on the mend.
Ricky might be a bit timid upon first meeting you, but once he realizes
you pose no threat, he's in your lap and begging for hugs. (He cuddles
in his foster mom's bed at night!) Ricky is good with other dogs and
he desperately wants a loving and forever home. Due to no fault of his
own, Ricky has had several different owners and been in and out of shelters

Denali Joe is a wonderful malamute/husky cross male that is probably around 4 years old. He has a great personality, loves to follow you around and just hang out with you. Gentry is a sweet husky cross that loves to go for walks, play catch, chase tennis balls, and thoroughly enjoys life. Gentry is a male that is slightly smaller than normal huskies but unlike most huskies, will play catch with you for hours! Karl is a laid back male husky cross that we rescued from the Valencia County Shelter after he was impounded as a stray. He is about 1 1/2 years old and It is hard to imagine how someone let this guy go. He's a quick learner, eager to please, good with other dogs and cats. Zoya about 2 1/2 years old, is a very sweet and affectionate girl that loves being with you. Zoya, along with her companion Luka, came to us when her family was moving out of state and didn't want to take her. Zoya can escape by digging or wiggling through gates, so secure containment is important. Zoya is good with other dogs, and she is very curious about cats. Luka, about 1 1/2 years old, is an easy-going, friendly husky cross that came to us when his family was moving out of state and didn't want to take him (along with his companion Zoya). Luka is good with other dogs and appears to be okay with cats. Luka has no major vices and he is a very willing learner. Cheyenne is a young, playful female Malamute cross that loves to play with anyone that will play with her! She is probably about 1 1/2 years old and a wolfy looking dog. She is good around other dogs and probably needs a home without small kids or cats. She has those beautiful eyes that look right through you. She has long hair and a very bushy tail, but is smaller than most normal size huskies and malamutes. She is spayed, current on all shots, and is microchipped. For whatever reason, these dogs also deserve a second chance so we are offering this service in hopes of finding these dogs a permanent home. Baloo is a 2-3 year old husky/golden retriever cross that is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever find. He gets along very well with other dogs, cats, and kids including very young kids, and does not have any other bad characteristics other than he desperately needs to live with another dog. He is very sweet, loves to go for runs and to the dog park, but he does not like to be left alone by himself without a companion dog!
