Kuma
Kuma: This handsome fellow is probably around 2 y.o. and gets along well with other dogs. He is a medium energy dog that loves long walks or runs, and as with most young huskies, he needs to get consistent exercise to keep him occupied. He is eager to please, neutered, and current on all his shots. Kuma would do best in a household with no cats or small dogs, but would love a canine companion. Although he has probably been an outdoor dog much of his short life, he seems to learn quickly and has already learned to sit on command!

Please call Steve at 505-264-2514 for more information about Kuma.

Austin1
Austin: What a long way has this incredibly sweet, 2-3 y.o.youngster come since being in foster care!  Subsequent to a legal seizure case, Austin came to us underweight, undersocialized with people and other dogs and short on confidence and social "know-how".  Now, he runs happily and assuredly with his canine companions, even standing up for himself if being bullied.  He initiates attention and affection from his foster mom, regularly laying at her feet in the morning while she prepares for work. Austin has learned good house manners, travels well in the car and does fine on leash.

Austin will do best in a dog (preferably husky) experienced home that affords him a female canine companion and the patience and willingness to continue his rehabilitation.

If interested in Austin, please submit an adoption application and call Tracey @ 610-2773 for more information.

Austin's adoption fee is $250.

Kuma4
Forrest: This Husky-German Shepherd male lived in northern NM on the end of a chain. He is probably around 1 y.o. and shows no signs of his past life or hardship, as he loves to run and play but he does have a medium-high energy level. He needs a canine companion that he can play and romp with, but he gets along well with other dogs. He listens very well and is eager to please and learn new commands. He is not house trained yet, but he should pick this up very quickly. His GSD characteristics make him a very nice dog while also passing on some traits such as alerting to potential intruders, etc.

If you are interested in Forrest, please call Steve at 505-264-2514 for more information.

Dina: This 3 year old female, originally from Texas, is ready for a new life and a forever home. Like so many unfortunate dogs, Dina suffered neglect and possibly abuse in her past, but she survived and has made a remarkable recovery. She stills bears some emotional scars from her previous life, but she’s gradually becoming more self-confident and trusting. Although initially shy around people, Dina has become very affectionate and loves being with her foster dad. She likes adults and should be fine with older children, but she’s probably not the best candidate for a home with toddlers. She also would not be good with cats. Dina gets along well with male dogs and her ideal forever home would include a good-natured male canine companion, but she could also do quite well as an only dog if someone is at home with her most of the time. Dina is house-trained, crate-trained, calm and well-mannered indoors, and good on leash. She’s looking for a home where gentle, patient owners will love her and nurture her as she continues her amazing journey of hope and renewal.

Dina recently tested negative for heartworm after undergoing a lengthy treatment for this condition. She’ll be retested in February 2012 to verify the negative results, but it can be said at this point that she’s most likely been cured and should live a long, normal, healthy life. If interested in adopting Dina, please submit an online adoption application. For more information on Dina and an update on her status, call Kirt at 505-967-6949. Dina’s adoption fee is $250.

Titan1
Titan: Titan is a male Alaskan Malamute that is about 2 years old. Although he accepts some males, he really prefers females and loves to play with them. Titan came to us from Oklahoma and is current on his shots, microchipped, and neutered. He would do best in a home that understands Malamutes as he is learning the human “rules and boundaries” but he needs a strong pack leader. He has a personality as large as himself, which is right around 90 lbs.

Titan’s adoption fee is $225.00.

Please contact Steve at 264-2514 for more information about Titan and fill out an adoption application.

Trent1
Trent:  This handsome 3 y.o. has a very sweet and agreeable disposition with people and most dogs, in spite of a neglectful past.  Trent craves human attention and affection and he he isn't shy about asking for it!  He loves to romp with his canine companions, especially the females. Trent can be a bit of a "worrier" in certain situations, so an experienced dog owner (preferably husky experienced) will be needed.

Eager to please, Trent has done well with basic training and with learning house manners. He travels well in the car and is good on leash.

Contact Tracey @ 610-2773 for more information about Trent and please submit an adoption application.

Trent's adoption fee is $250.

Uri: This incredibly handsome 2 y.o. was impounded as a stray when he was running at large chasing horses.  Very affectionate and eager to please, Uri has progressed quickly in foster care with house training, crate training and car travel.  He is good with other dogs, but initial impressions are that he would do best with a female companion.  As always, a husky experienced home is preferred.  Uri is recently in our foster care, so we are still getting to know him. Uri is being treated for heartworm (a non-contagious condition) with oral antibiotics.

If interested in Uri, please submit an adoption application and call Tracey at 610-2773 or Steve at 264-2514 for more information.

Adoption fee for Uri is $275.

Sophia1
Sophia was rescued from a shelter in Colorado and is approximately 3 years old. She is a long-legged black and white husky mix with soft, soulful brown eyes and a very sweet disposition. She knows her basic commands, travels well in a car, does well on lead and is proving to be an easy keeper. She is shy but is beginning to open up in her foster home and is showing her playful side. She loves attention and will cuddle with you by putting her entire body in your lap! She is not overly energetic, but will need a forever home that will provide her with exercise. She gets along well with other dogs, but should not be placed in a homw with cats. She is current on shots and is spayed.

If you would like to meet this sweetie please contact Lisa at 970-946-3904.

Shiner: Just 1-1/2 years old, this super-sweet dog is still very much a youngster. Shiner is a medium-energy boy who gets along extremely well with other dogs and really loves to play with his canine buddies. He’s very affectionate and really loves being with people, too. Shiner is house-trained and he’s in excellent health. He can be a bit impatient at times and needs a breed-experienced owner who will continue to work with him and help him develop. Like most Siberians, Shiner is very social, and he’ll need to go to a home where he’ll have at least one other dog as a playmate. He would not do well with cats. Shiner will be a wonderful, loving companion for an active person or family.

If interested in Shiner, please submit an online adoption application. Call Kirt at 505-967-6949 for more information. Shiner’s adoption fee is $275.

She is very sweet and energetic.  She plays well with her older fosted dogs.  Blair is doing well using a crate, is good in my house but at her young age will require house training re-inforcement when she goes to her new home.  She is learning to walk on lease and gets better with every walk.

Nash: Nash is a “wooley” Siberian husky that is probably around 2 years old. As a wooley, or a Siberian with both that long inner and outer coat, he will need to be groomed at least twice a year. Nash does require a home without cats, but he does really well around other dogs. Nash is not housetrained and will need a person that can help him make a transition from being an outdoor-only dog, to being both indoor and outdoor. He plays well with other dogs and is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever find! He is looking for his forever home.

Nash’s adoption fee is $225.00.

Please contact Steve at 264-2514 for more information about Nash and fill out an adoption application.

Starry: Starry is a young female that is such a joy! She loves to play with other dogs and will play with some of the other dogs almost constantly! Star was found as a stray in north Albuquerque and was surrendered to us after no owner could be found. Judging from a small piece of her left ear missing, she probably wasn’t given the best life early on, but that hasn’t stopped her from being a very sweet dog! She is between 1 and 2 years old, current on her shots, spayed, and would love to go on walks regularly.

Starry’s adoption fee is $225.00.
